Judy Gale Roberts & Jerry Booher

Intarsia's rebirth in the twentieth century is a direct result of Judy Gale Roberts and Jerry Booher's efforts to keeping this technique alive.

Judy first started creating intarsia with her father in the late 1970s. In the mid-1980s Jerry joined her. Their collaboration over the following years resulted in a refinement of technique, with Judy doing pattern creation and contouring and Jerry providing "fit and finish".

The publication of Judy's' work in a national woodworking magazine brought Judy and Jerry widespread attention in 1988. In less than a decade, her name has become synonymous with intarsia. Having won many international awards, Judy was one of the first ten woodworkers to be inducted in 1997 to the "Woodworking Hall of Fame" for design, craftsmanship, and education in intarsia.
